About
Hi! 👋 I’m Cere Davis.
I am a multidisciplinary artist, engineer and researcher based in Berkeley, CA. I work in Software Systems Engineering, Science-art and education. I offer workshops and develop educational curriculum adjacent to underlying my kinetic sculpture and scientific artworks. My art exhibits and workshops are motivated by a central curiousity about complex systems and a desire to inspire scientific curiousity in others. I believe science can be playful and epistemology can be fun, even for adults. I research a broad array of topics with an aim to understand underlying principles and themes. I live for the “ah-hah” moment in solving engineering problems and discovering new scientific connections; and love to share the “ah-hah” with others.
I have extensive experience providing software engineering and architectural services to educational and corporate institutions. I and have worked in a wide range of domains including designing complex computational clusters, redundent/distrubuted web architectures, debugging distributed WAN network anomalies, writing test/automation code and modifying and Kernel-level code debugging.
When I am not doing research, programming or making exhibits, I enjoy vocal improv or playing abstract compositions on the piano.
If you would like to reach out to me, I can be found at:
